Summary, etc.: | When Brian White, Tom Mottier, Brandon Kennedy and Mike Rempert submitted their story to the groundbreaking MTV show MTV News Unfiltered, the idea that their story would ever air on the most popular TV network in the country seemed like a pipe dream. It didn't even seem real when MTV sent them a camera to capture their community's reaction to the sport they invented, which they called Freestyle Walking (equated by many with the now-popular Parkour). The story of four kids from the Chicago suburbs having their sport censored and banned in the halls of their school resonated with the country, and spread from Chicago to the four corners of the globe. Lords of Soaptown catches up with the men these kids became, uncovering not only the truth behind the sport, but the truth behind a multi-million-dollar shoe line that the Wheaton natives claim to have invented. |
